A Collaborative Vision
When we first met with our clients and their neighbours in Isleworth, the vision was clear: we needed to remove the outdated, asbestos-laden garages and replace them with two garden rooms that would harmoniously fit into the landscape. Given the property’s location in a Conservation Area, we understood the importance of designing a space that not only met our client's needs but also respected the historical context of the neighbourhood.
A Design That Complements
Our team worked closely with the clients to create a design that felt like it had always been part of the landscape. The final layout included two separate garden rooms that, from the driveway, appeared as one cohesive structure. One room serves as an art studio, providing a dedicated space for our clients to store paintings and engage in their creative pursuits. The other room adds valuable living space, featuring a utility area and a cosy living room.
High-Quality Materials
To enhance the aesthetic appeal and durability of the garden rooms, the clients selected Hardie Plank siding in a stunning Monterey Taupe finish. This man-made, cement-fibre mix is not only visually appealing but also requires minimal upkeep, making it an ideal choice for our clients’ needs. The colour perfectly complements the Victorian-era house, ensuring the new structures look like they belong in this charming neighbourhood.
Overcoming Challenges
Typically, our garden room projects are built in open spaces with plenty of room to work. However, this project presented unique challenges, as we had to demolish two existing garages before fully understanding the available space. This required a bespoke approach to designing floor, wall, and roof sections to maximize the usable area on both sides.
Our skilled installers tackled these challenges head-on, ensuring every detail was executed flawlessly. The result? A pair of garden rooms that not only meet our clients' needs but also enhance the overall aesthetic of the property.
