Having spent 22 years in the newspaper industry, with the last 5 years dedicated to organising large-scale consumer exhibitions for the Telegraph Media Group, myself and my former business partner were leaving to start our own events company in March 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic came along. This gave us the time (and the necessity) to think about pivoting our skills in a new direction. Leveraging our team’s expertise, which included creating awe-inspiring features for exhibitions like two-story houses at the Ideal Home Show, we decided to channel our skills into a new venture—My Retreat Garden Rooms.

The inspiration for this venture struck me while I was attempting to work amidst the chaos of children running around the house. Like countless parents throughout the country, I realised the impossibility of maintaining focus and productivity. It was during this moment of contemplation that I thought, "If only I had a garden room! I could have my own dedicated space, conveniently close to home, where I could keep my work materials readily accessible without the constant need to tidy up when the kids returned from school."

Today, My Retreat Garden Rooms stands as a testament to our vision. We have successfully installed some of the finest bespoke garden rooms in Surrey and the South East, each one tailored to meet the unique needs and desires of our esteemed customers. In 2022, such was the success, that we widened the range to include manufactured garden rooms, which are still fully customisable but more cost-effective as a lot of the work is done in the factory in Yorkshire, which means they require much less labour time onsite. These garden rooms align with our commitment to using premium materials and employing skilled installers, who prioritise delivering a stress-free experience for the customer.

Our manufactured garden rooms are characterised by their efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Through streamlined installation processes, much of the construction takes place in our factory, resulting in reduced on-site labour time and minimised disruption to your daily routine. Furthermore, our manufactured garden rooms are unique and come equipped with a steel frame floor, foil-backed Celotex insulation, a comprehensive base, electrical connection to your house, heating, lighting, flooring, and a plaster finish—all included as standard and backed by a 10-year manufacturer-backed warranty.
